Improved Decision Making
Most CEOs wrestle with issues that cannot be discussed with staff, friends or other business acquaintances. TEC provides a supportive peer group where any and all issues may be discussed in a totally confidential environment. The TEC group and TEC Chair act as a sounding board which fosters lateral thinking and extra input, so that the best ideas can be analyzed and applied by each member to their greatest business advantage.
Increased Accountability/Commitment to Action
Each TEC group, together with the TEC Chair, maintains a strong emphasis on follow through and implementation of actions undertaken by TEC Members, ensuring key targets are achieved and results assessed.
Personal and Professional Growth
TEC groups have TEC speakers on major business topics such as strategic planning, marketing, sales, employment and tax laws, leadership and a wide range of human resource topics.
Overcoming Isolation
It can be lonely at the top. Many CEOs experience a sense of isolation which can dampen the rewards and challenges of their position. TEC provides a supportive peer group where members can "discuss the undiscussable", helping to reduce the stress associated with this level of responsibility.
Anticipating and Managing Change
TEC membership helps CEOs deal with the speed of change and emergency issues in their companies and enables focus on strategy to move the organization to the future. New management ideas and technologies are implemented with the help of the group, TEC Chair and expert TEC speakers. TEC members have the advantage of being able to observe and learn from experiences of other TEC members in Detroit and around the world via the TEC website.
Networking Nationally and Internationally
We are committed to connecting business leaders with people, ideas, and information they need to help them improve their businesses and their lives. TEC has more than 9000 members worldwide and every member is encouraged to network with TEC members in his or her city, country and around the world.
TEC Groups
A TEC member meets nine times per year for a full day with 12-14 other CEOs from non-competing industries. In completely confidential sessions, members exchange ideas and opinions and give each other the direct, honest feedback they rarely get within their own companies or from their board of directors.
TEC Chairs
Each TEC group is managed by a TEC Chair who has wide business experience and the ability to act as mentor, coach and counselor for chief executives. The majority of TEC Chairs are former executives who understand the special issues business leaders face whether running a large or small company, private or public, local or international.
TEC Speakers
At many of the meetings, TEC provides outside business experts who keep members up to date on the latest techniques needed to run their businesses. These TEC Speakers present fresh perspectives that help members solve problems and implement positive change in their organizations.
