TEC is a membership organization that delivers a unique blend of business resources and personal support that changes lives, increases profits, improves careers and makes the challenges of running and growing a business both fulfilling and worthwhile.

History of TEC and TEC Detroit

The first TEC group was started in 1957 with the premise that chief executives could benefit greatly from a formalized exchange of ideas amongst their peers. Through the years this learning community has expanded to more than 12,000 TEC Members, creating a powerful exchange of knowledge that occurs on the local, national and worldwide levels.

TEC Detroit was founded in 1975 and the first group opened in 1976. Presently, TEC Detroit has 12 groups and is an affiliate of TEC International.

There are now TEC groups in 14 countries around the world which includes Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Germany, Ireland, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Russia, South Africa, United Kingdom and United States.

The vision of TEC is to be the pre-eminent development organization for CEOs internationally. Our vision in Detroit is to have the greatest number of satisfied chief executives of any business leadership organization in Southeast Michigan.
